Our Vision
Our vision is to build a trusted, local mortgage service where every client feels understood, supported, and confident from start to finish. We aim to create an experience that replaces stress with clarity, uncertainty with guidance, and complexity with simple, practical solutions. Over time, we want to become a recognised and respected advisory service in the community — known for integrity, ownership, and a genuine commitment to helping people secure the right mortgage for their future.
With over 25 years of experience working in major investment banks, I’ve built a career around understanding people’s needs and delivering solutions that genuinely make a difference. Although my roles included IT development, business analysis, and project management, the heart of my work has always been the same: listening carefully, solving complex problems, and ensuring the people I support achieve the outcomes they’re aiming for.
Over the last decade, I’ve worked closely with a wide range of teams — from sales and trading to operations — helping them navigate challenges and find clear, practical solutions. I’ve always taken pride in taking full ownership of my work and seeing projects through to a successful result.
What truly motivates me is seeing clients benefit from the support I provide. I’ve always put people’s needs first, and I’m driven by the satisfaction of removing their pain points and helping them move forward with confidence. That same commitment now guides me as a mortgage advisor: understanding your goals, simplifying the process, and making sure you feel supported every step of the way.

Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to some of the questions we're asked most often about getting a mortgage. Click a question to expand it.
How much can I borrow for a mortgage?
Most lenders base this on a multiple of your income (typically around 4 to 4.5 times your annual salary), alongside your outgoings, credit history, and the size of your deposit. We can run an affordability check with you to give an accurate figure for your circumstances.
How much deposit do I need?
Most mortgages require a minimum deposit of 5-10% of the property's value. A larger deposit (15-25%+) usually unlocks better interest rates, so it's worth saving more if you can.
What is a Decision in Principle (DIP)?
A Decision in Principle is an estimate from a lender of how much they might lend you, based on a quick credit check and some basic information. It's not a guarantee, but it shows sellers and estate agents that you're a serious buyer.
How long does a mortgage application take?
A Decision in Principle can often be arranged reasonably quickly. A full mortgage application, from submission to formal offer, typically takes 2-6 weeks depending on the lender and the complexity of your circumstances.
What credit score do I need to get a mortgage?
There's no single "pass mark" - each lender has its own criteria. Generally, a good, consistent credit history improves your options and the rates available to you. If your credit history isn't perfect, there are still often options available - talk to us about your situation.
Should I choose a fixed or variable rate mortgage?
A fixed rate keeps your monthly payment the same for an agreed period, giving you certainty and protection from rate rises. A variable (or tracker) rate can move up or down with the market, which could mean lower costs but less predictability. The right choice depends on your budget and appetite for risk - we can talk through the trade-offs with you.
What fees are involved in getting a mortgage?
Costs can include a mortgage arrangement/product fee, a valuation fee, legal/conveyancing fees, and sometimes a broker fee. Some products have no arrangement fee but a slightly higher rate instead - we'll help you compare the true overall cost, not just the headline rate.
Is help available for first-time buyers?
Yes - options such as the Lifetime ISA, mortgage guarantee schemes, and some lender-specific first-time buyer products can help. Availability and eligibility can vary and change over time, so it's worth checking your options with us directly.
What documents do I need for a mortgage application?
Typically: proof of ID, proof of address, recent payslips (or accounts if self-employed), bank statements, and details of any existing debts or credit commitments. We'll give you a full checklist tailored to your situation before you apply.
What happens if my mortgage application is declined?
It's not the end of the road. There are often other lenders with different criteria who may still be able to help, depending on the reason for the decline. We can review what happened and explore alternative options with you.
